The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has committed EUR 12 million to Genesis Private Equity Fund II. The fund is managed by Genesis Capital Ltd. and seeks to invest in the development of low-to-medium sized private equity managers as well as find new ways to finance businesses and projects in the Czech and Slovak Republics. Further details of the transaction are not available.
Genesis Private Equity Fund II
Genesis Private Equity Fund II is a private equity fund from Genesis Capital. Its target is EUR 60 million with a goal of investing in businesses in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The Fund operates within the parameters set up by EBRD’s Environmental Procedures for Private Equity Funds. This includes compliance with EBRD’s Environmental Exclusion and Referral List as well as an annual environmental report submitted to EBRD.

Along with Genesis Private Equity Fund II, Genesis Capital also manages the Genesis Private Equity Fund, sized at EUR 30 million, and has acted as an adviser to the Czech and Slovak Private Equity Fund as an affiliate of Advent International since 1999. It has the goal of investing EUR 1 to 3 million into Czech and Slovak companies. Genesis Capital is also a member of the Czech Venture Capital Association as well as the Slovak Venture Capital Association.
