Arca Capital announced at the start of Q3 2008 that it had acquired a license from the Czech National Bank to establish a new investment fund. The fund was named Arca Capital CEE and is seeking investors willing to bring at least CZK 5 million to the table.
Investments in the fund will be realized through the purchase of shares from Arca Capital.

Arca Capital CEE is the first qualified investor fund in the Czech Republic. The fund’s focus will be on private equity investment in Central and Eastern Europe, beginning with some of Arca Capital’s current projects. Limits have been placed on fund investments, prohibiting investment in a single project from exceeding 35% of the registered capital of the fund. With initial capital amount of CZK 50 million, the fund plans several capital increases over the next year-and-a-half with a target of CZK 3 billion. The life of the fund will be 10 years, the maximum life allowed by law.

Arca Capital was established in 2003 and focuses on private equity and venture capital in the areas of energy, engineering, food processing, information technology, media and telecommunications, real estate, and others. Investment amounts can range from hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of euros, with an average horizon of three to five years.
Arca Capital has a presence in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, and Great Britain. It has recently been actively expanding its Ukraine operations, noting the favorable economy and opportunities in that country.
