Enterprise Investors Acquires 30% Stake in Dystrybucja Polska

E nterprise Investors’ venture capital fund Enterprise Venture Fund I has acquired a 30 percent stake in Dystrybucja Polska. The first investment of the firm’s inaugural venture capital fund is worth slightly more than USD 2 million.

Dystrybucja Polska is headquartered in Poznan, Poland and is at present one of the fastest growing companies offering delivery service of non-addressed mail such as newsletters and advertisements. The company holds many contracts with a variety of retail chains that target individual customers. Dystrybucja Polska has grown its sales by an average of 40 percent per year over the last three years, positioning the company to continue its target of attaining Poland’s largest market share within a few years. Sales for 2008 are expected to top USD $10 million.

Operating venture capital and private equity funds in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe, Enterprise Investors is one of the largest firms in the region.

Established in 1990, the company has received capital from many major U.S. and European financial institutions, reaching nearly USD 2.3 billion in total capital. Enterprise Investors has made investments into over 100 companies. With USD $135 million of capital in the Enterprise Venture Fund I, the fund will focus on small-to-medium firms in Poland and the surrounding region.
