A round of investments to provide live on-demand English and Mandarin language training supplier, Idapted, with financing has closed. The Series A financing was led by Gobi Partners and Ambient Sound Investments (ASI). The funds are designed to give Idapted capital to further expand its customer base and leverage its online tools www.studichinese.com and www.eqenglish.com, which teaches the basics of Chinese for non-native speakers. The level of investment by each company is unknown at this time.

The company provides in house learning technology that implements online instructions through its extensive network of certified employees. China-based venture capital firm Gobi Partners focuses on early stage investments with over USD 200 million under management. China’s IT and digital media sectors are its primary market of investment, specializing in companies that integrate telecommunications and media technologies to provide new forms of interactive digital communication. IBM, Steamboat Ventures and Nokia Growth Partners are some of the primary investors in Gobi Partners.

Established by the four co-founders of Skype, Ambient Sound Investments focuses on the international start-up technology sector, using its own funds for various companies’ capital. Led by the four former engineers. ASI specializes in developing new technologies from firms that offer them as services.
ASI is mostly focusing on Eastern Europe and Russia, searching companies that are developing new technologies or based thereon to be added to its investment portfolio.
