FHB’s Speder Raises Stake in Bank With Purchase of 2.5m ‘A’ Shares

FHB’s Speder Raises Stake in Bank With Purchase of 2.5m ‘A’ Shares

F HB Jelzálogbank Nyrt (FHB) chairman Zoltan Speder ended the 2009 year on a high note, buying 2.5 million ‘A’ series shares of the bank’s stock through a standard OTC transaction. After paying € 3.9 per share for a total transaction amount of € 9.75 million, Speder has increased his stake in the bank to 16.75 %. Along with Speder controlled A64 Vagyonkezelo, the two hold a combined 10.75 million ‘A’ series shares in FHB bank.

Though the FHB chairman is one of the bank’s largest shareholders to date, he still owns less than the 20% belonging to Austrian investment company Vienna Capital Partners (VCP). VCP raised its stake early last summer through a purchase from HSBC Bank plc. FHB shares closed up by 0.15 % (USD 6.96) on news of the Speder deal.
