3TS Capital Partners Sells CMU Majority Stake to Advent International

In a move that brings an end to a three-year investment, 3TS Capital Partners/3i has agreed to sell its majority stake in Romanian medical services company Centrul Medical Unirea (CMU) to Advent International. Joining the sale are CMU’s founders who own a minority stake.

CMU is a Romanian medical services company established in 1995 by Dr. Wargha Enayati. CMU’s 19 clinics provide ambulatory, inpatient, maternity and surgical services in Bucharest and four other major cities. With consistent expansion of available services, the company also has begun offering some hospital services as well as a stem cell bank and diagnostic imaging.

As of 2007 CMU carried more than 35,000 subscribers through individual company plans as well as a large number of pay-as-you-go customers.

CMU is based in Bucharest and employees more than 500 individuals.
