Gimv is a company involved with many mid-sized growth companies since 1996. Gimv has been involved with KBC Private Equity since early 2008, but this partnership was cancelled by KBC at the end of 2009.
Though the partnership with KBC Private Equity was canceled, Gimv will continue with its existing portfolio in Russia through cooperation withCapMan. Gimv made a EUR 7.5 million commitment to the CapMan Russia Fund in early 2009, which is a part of a total of EUR 118 million in the fund. Gimv became a significant investor in CapMan funds in summer 2009. Since this time, Gimv and CapMan have continuously cooperated in data flow generation and value creation with many companies.
Established in 1989, CapMan consists of six investment operations each managed by its own unique team. Together they invest primarily in Nordic and Russian technology and science companies, as well as real estate development, hotels, and investment property in Finland. CapMan’s funds come from a variety of investors including insurance companies, pension funds, banks, public sector enterprises, and other funds. The group currently manages funds with a total capital of €3.5 billion with a staff of more than 150 employees.
Gimv has been an active private equity and venture capital firm since its inception in 1980 in the Flemish Region of Belgium. It is now an independent investment company targeting small and mid-sized concerns with growth potential, strong market position, and a proven track record.
Currently Gimv has €1.7 billion in assets under management including third-party funds.
