Several PE Firms Lining up Bids for Poland’s Polkomtel

Polish mobile phone operator Polkomtel may be sold in its entirety if the U.K.’s Vodafone puts their 25% stake on the block. Such a move would likely push the shareholders controlling the remaining 75% to follow. Anticipation of a possible sale has investors lining up for bids, including Apax Partners, Blackstone Group, CVC Capital Partners, and TPG.

Vodafone is considering the sale in light of a recent strategy to exit minority holdings and streamline its portfolio. Bids for full control of Polkomtel are anticipated to be around €4 billion.
