Polish investor hardGAMMA Ventures has recently invested in a Warsaw-based mobile applications development laboratory called Appvetica.The company will throw its energy into implementing the app ideas from the team, which consists of graphic designers and mobile app developers with extensive experience. Appvetica will be releasing at least one application before the end of 2011, and about 8-10 are in the works for deployment in 2012.
hardGAMMA Ventures is a seed and early stage venture capital fund that also works with several top incubator programs around the world – such as Seedcamp (UK), HackFwd (Pan-Europe), TechStars (US), and others – in the capacity of startup assessors and qualifiers. hardGAMMA also operates by creating investment opportunities across a network of affiliate investors so that portfolio companies gain more exposure to potential investors.
The company works to fortify its portfolio members with non-executive support such as product positioning, planning and marketing. Their key investment interests lie in the areas of gaming, social networking, cloud computing, biotechnology and other related fields. Their main assumption about their target companies is that the latter will require strong support at the business development and operations levels.
