The Copenhagen based capital investor firm, Sunstone Capital, closes its third Sunstone Capital Technology Ventures Fund with EUR 85 million. European Investment Fund, Dansk Vaekstkapital, Industriens Pension and Vaekstfonden also took part in this first closing. The final closing is expected in 2012 with a target fund size of EUR 100 million. In the next five years Technology Ventures Fund aims to double Sunstone’s current company portfolio with 25 new investments in IT and related fields.

The 100% partner owned company have already invested in 20 companies such as Prezi, Flatfrog or Egalet. Sunstone is supported by two existing funds, and handles EUR 580 million invested in 49 companies. Their investments are focused on start-up companies in the software, web services, e-commerce, gaming and mobile market as well as in life-sciences, from the Nordic regions and CEE.
