After reviewing Antavo during the Seedcamp event in Tel Aviv on March 29, the early-stage mentoring and investment program has invested into the online marketing applications company that is based in Hungary. Of the seven members of Antavo, three of them have already set up operations in London with the hope of finding partners to finance their expansion. The team had already attended the European Entrepreneurship Foundation’s Venture Accelerator Course during the fall of 2011, releasing their beta version shortly after.

Antavo is a software company that is currently in the process of releasing the first version of their online marketing and promotions tool. The Hungarian company is based in Szeged and started work on its primary product in June 2011. Shortly after the launch they attended the Venture Accelerator Course organized by the European Entrepreneurship Foundation, and were later invited to join a major Seedcamp event in Tel Aviv. The funding that they have recently received from Seedcamp will enable them to expand their options and complete work on the software, which is currently in public beta. Even at this stage, the company has an impressive user base of nearly 2,000 spread across more than 90 countries. The company’s software has been able to save users an average of EUR 400 per user, as compared to other solutions available for marketing and promotional campaigns. The promo campaign can be built into a company’s Facebook page and also integrated into their website. The founding team consists of CEO Attila Kecsmar, CTO Gabor Csarnai, CMO Zsuzsi Szabo and CFO Andras Bencsik. Three of the members have already moved to London to take advantage of the start-up climate in the UK. This month will also see Antavo roll out its new promo builder platform as well as their pricing strategy moving forward.

The Seedcamp event in Tel Aviv this year saw 18 participating teams (some from as far away as Finland) join together at the hosted location – Afeka College of Engineering. Apart from the regular sponsors – Google, Facebook, Qualcomm, Microsoft BizSpark and Paypal – this particular event was also sponsored by Microsoft Azure Accelerator and Lool Ventures. The four lucky participants that walked away with with Seedcamp investment were Antavo, MightyFingers, Sayduck and Bukit.
