Polish Chem Company Azoty Tarnow Could See German Bid From PCC, Sololow

German chemicals group PCC is considering a partnership with a PE firm to bid for Polish company Azoty Tarnow. This will be a counter-bid to Russian company Akron’s offer of PLZ 1.5 bln (USD 438.7 mln). Another interested party is Synthos owner Michal Sololow from Poland, but his bid may not make it to the final round of consideration. The investment assumption arises from the Polish treasury’s ministry’s rejection of Akron’s offer as well as an indication that they are still open to counter-bid offers. The ministry currently holds 32 percent of Azoty Tarnow, which is being valued at PLZ 2.5 bln (USD 731.2 mln) and mostly famous for its trademarked thermoplastic engineering plastic, Tarnamid®.
