Dnevnik.ru was launched as a service in September 2009 in St. Petersburg, but the project was originally sanctioned as far back as 2007. Since then the company has won several accolades while gathering a huge pool of customers that form its extensive network. Currently holding fort with more than 19,000 schools and well over 2 million children across Russia, the platform allows a meeting point online for parents, school teachers and students, similar to a social network, but focused on all matters related to education. The site also features state-of-the-art security systems for its users’ data in compliance with K2-152 Russian federal standards. With full support from the government and educational authorities, Dnevnik is now Russia’s largest educational network. Previous investors for the project include Prostor Capital, which provided a USD 1.7 mln funding in 2011.
